Personal Revival – today’s prayer

Author Joel Rosenberg asks this question regarding revival:

“If you’re already a follower of Christ, do you need a revival in your own personal life and in your family? If so, may I suggest you follow the advice of Gypsy Smith’s, the British Evangelist. Go to your room. Close the door. Get down on your knees. Plead with the Lord to do a new and wonderful work in your heart, and to give you a new hunger for His Word and passion for serving Him regardless of the cost. Don’t make it a quick prayer. Invest serious time before the Lord confessing your sins and asking for His forgiveness and asking Him to refresh you and use you to advance His kingdom.”

 My prayer for today:

In light of this Father I pray that you would do a wonderful work in my heart.  Give me a new hunger and thirst for you O God and for your Word.  Help me O Lord to serve you regardless of the cost to me.  Help me be both bold and tender with the gospel.  Tender to understand the hurt with whom I am speaking and boldness to let them know that there only hope is in the gospel.  Father cause my heart to see my own sin and confess it to you, to ask you for forgiveness. Use me today and every day to advance your kingdom.   I ask all of this in Jesus name, amen.
