A Certain Hope ….

Lord, today I have been thinking about hope. It seems to me Father that there is so much hopelessness in our world today. Lord, I see couples who have lost hope in each other, or have lost hope in their marriage, or have lost hope for their rebellious teen. I see kids struggling from the unintended consequences of divorce, and the struggles they are having to feel like they belong. I see others others who have lost hope in our economy. Lord, I am reminded that your Word says “Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a desire fulfilled is a tree of life”. Lord help us know that our only hope is in You, and in your Son Jesus and his finished work on the cross and the conquering of death by his resurrection from the dead. Lord help us to know that we have this as a sure and steadfast hope, the anchor of the soul, and that his name is Jesus. Lord we long for you and for your Son, and it is in the perfect and matchless name of Jesus that we come, amen.

  1. Chris Legg says:

The world has lost sight of anything being stable… secure. To put hope in something unstable is foolish and doomed. When it comes to hope, truly this is a dry and thirsty land and there is no well. The world and the insight that God has given man is amazing, but only He is a safe well for hope.
