Daily Psalms and Proverbs

While I was in New York City with other camp leaders from around the country in April, we had the privilege of hearing from Dr. Tim Keller, the Lead Pastor at Redeemer Presbyterian Church. Dr. Keller is the author of numerous books and is one of my favorite speakers. During our time, he shared that he reads the Psalms and Proverbs every single day to stay further engaged in his scripture reading.

Since that time, I have found that if you read five Psalms and one Proverb every day, you can read all the Psalms and all the Proverbs in a month’s time frame. I have been doing this for a few weeks now and it really is a great way to to dig deeper with your time in the Word.

I wanted to share this in hopes that you might take part in the daily Psalms and Proverbs reading with me. Here is the schedule that I have been following:

Day of the Month

1   Psalm 1-5 & Proverbs 1

2   Psalm 6-10 & Proverbs 2

3   Psalm 11-15 & Proverbs 3

4   Psalm 16-20 & Proverbs 4

17  Psalm 81-85 & Proverbs 17

18  Psalm 86-90 & Proverbs 18

19  Psalm 91-95 & Proverbs 19

20  Psalm 96-100 & Proverbs 20

21  Psalm 101-105 & Proverbs 21

Reading scripture is such a critical part of our walk with Christ and I encourage all to go further and really grasp the words of the Psalms and Proverbs as you spend time in the Word every day.
